  • ترفع القدم من على دواسة التعشيق حتى الشعور باهتزاز محرك السيارة وإصداره صوتاً، ومن ثم تضغط ثانية على نفس الدواسة حتى تحديد نقطة الانطلاق.
  • ترفع القدم ببطئ عن دواسة التعشيق كي لا تنطفئ السيارة، والبدء بالضغط على دواسة البنزين بالقدم اليمنى ولكن ببطئ.
  • يجب الانتظار بعد قطع مسافة صغيرة ومن ثم الضغط على دواسة التعشيق بعد رفع القدم ببطئ عن دواسة البنزين، في الوقت نفسه سحب ناقل السرعة إلى الخلف.
  • يتم سحب القدم اليسرى ببطئ عن دواسة التعشيق، في نفس الوقت يتم الضغط بالقدم اليمنى على دواسة البنزين، وتكرر تلك العملية في حالة تغير ناقل السرعة.
  • يحرك ناقل السرعة ما بين الغيار الأول والثاني والثالث والرابع على حسب السرعة التي يراد السير بها، مع الحرص على تكرار الضغط ببطئ على كل من دواسة التعشيق والبنزين.
  • عند إيقاف السيارة يتم رفع القدم عن الدواسة ببطئ والضغط على دواسة التعشيق في نفس الوقت، وذلك لكي يتحرك ناقل السرعة للغيار الأقل، ومن ثم تتوقف السيارة.
